Storm Eunice was the first of three storms we experienced in quick succession in February 2022. It was hard to stand in one place the force of the wind was so great. I watched the waves at Rotherslade Bay for a bit then went home and painted this. I had a reference photo for the rough shape and position of the headlands. I thought about building up the paint layers in the sea but decided that my initial simple swirling shapes were probably the best way of expressing the sense of movement. Oil on canvas. 60x40cm.
