This painting took quite a while to assemble. I based it on sketches made in the market while I sipped coffee, photos and I invented figures based on the sort of people I see there. The idea was to show some of the life of the market and things that people buy. Swansea market is very popular locally and many seem to regard it as the best part of the city centre because of its character, variety and vitality. Oil on canvas. I have included it in both the Swansea and Stories in Paint sections. It was selected for the 2024 Glynn Vivian Open Exhibition.
